Identification
IMG_9250 shows green, densely punctured wing covers, a compact oval body, long threadlike antennae and brownish legs. It lacks the copper-brown wing covers and conspicuous white side tufts characteristic of Japanese beetles.
Lookalikes & limits
Several metallic leaf beetles can resemble this insect. Dogbane and willow leaf beetles are possibilities to compare, not accepted names. Host plant, measured size and clearer head/underside details are missing.

Likely a leaf-feeding beetle. Its exact food plants, native status and significance to the garden require a species identification.
